The fall season gets us excited to bring out our sweaters, scarves, jeans, and boots. But new trends have emerged for fall 2013 for everything from the IT color to the IT pattern. I have been keeping tabs on some of my favorite designers and I like to take note of what seem to be the easiest trends to conquer as a college student from a small town. Here are my favorite fall 2013 trends:

Sweaters.

First up: sweaters. Obviously sweaters are always in style in fall and winter seasons to keep you warm, but the style for sweaters in fall 2013 are either a cozy knit sweater or academically-inspired sweaters.

Michael Kors included the ever popular comfy loose knit sweaters in his collection.

Emerald Green.

If you haven't heard about it yet; Fall 2013's IT color: Emerald Green

This trend can be worn as a pop of color in an outfit, accessory, nail polish, or you can go all out such as wearing an emerald green dress!

Mixed Prints.

There are so many big patterns for fall 2013, such as plaid, tweed, hounds-tooth, and argyle. So why not mix and match them!

Kate Spade mixes hounds-tooth and tweed in this blouse + jacket combo. The overall style of this outfit is 60s-inspired which is also a big trend this fall.

Leather.

Leather is huge this fall. From jackets to skirts to bags, leather is one of the most popular and easiest trends to try. My favorite is the leather skirt because it is different from the pieces we usually see in leather, such as leather jackets.

These pieces are easy to find and fairly easy to style! Try them out, I know I will ;)

Smaller stud earrings are the fall statement earring for 2013. Stud earrings can be worn with any outfit, it's an easy trend to wear, and they can be worn many different ways. If you have more than one ear piercing, you can wear as many as you like! Personally, I have two ear piercings and this is how I am currently wearing the trend!
Check out Elle.com for more ideas on how to wear the trend.

First off, I know it looks like all I do is shop when you look at my blog, but I am a normal girl looking for bargains just like anybody else! I don't usually shop this often, I think it is the back-to-school craze. When I went to Bella Jules I had a gift card, and my friend convinced me to go to the outlets yesterday. I will admit, I have a slight shopping addiction that usually won't let me turn down any kind of shopping trip, but I really do my best to try to save my money, I swear!

Forever 21 is one of those stores I cringe at when I am about to enter, only because I know I am going to spend a lot of time and money there no matter what. I love the clothes and the prices; it's like heaven! But since Forever 21 has such good prices I end up spending  more there because I use the awesome price/deal to justify buying each item. Yesterday wasn't too bad, though. I spent around $45 and I want to share what I spent it on!

Bella Jules

Today I stopped in to browse at Bella Jules. They have some really great stuff right now! I tried on a bunch of different things but these three were my favorites. The Red Tea Length Skirt was from their summer styles but I just loved it!  They are having a sale on their summer clothing so it was a great price. I love the color and the length.
The leather skirt was absolutely adorable. It is perforated and pleated and has a fun and flirty feel. This skirt is also a great transition piece from fall to winter.
Last, the leather jacket was my all time favorite from their fall styles. They just got it in the store so it isn't on their website yet. The faux leather is so soft and it was such a comfortable fit.
There was one more thing I really loved - and bought! But I am waiting to share that until the first time I wear it! ;)

I wanted to share this piece of advice that Lauren Conrad shared on her blog today because I truly believe in it. There are so many things in life that you have to get through in your own way. Comparing your life to others' lives really is the worst thing you can do for your self esteem. Everyone has their own personal goals and dreams and how they go about achieving them depends on their personality and previous experiences in life. I completely agree with all of LC's "Ten Things They Don’t Teach You in School"

These are my back to school picks for this fall. I didn't necessarily pick things that go together, but things that will be in style throughout the fall season!

Today I have been hard at work! My main project that actually began over the weekend was cleaning out my closet. I've gotten rid of so many things I didn't even realize I still had, plus I have a big bag of clothes I am going to donate to Goodwill! I love to do this every so often to make some space in my room and clean everything up. It feels like a fresh start for the school year.

I also began getting stuff ready for my classes since I start working at school on Wednesday. I am a peer mentor to a class of freshman who have to take a First Year Seminar course. We meet our class on the first day and then hang out with them all throughout their orientation weekend. Once the semester begins peer mentors sit in on the FYS classes and help the freshmen with anything they might need or want to talk about to help to make their first year at Alvernia a bit easier. I have a busy year ahead of me but it is my last and I hope to make the best of it!
