I don't remember the last time I cleaned my makeup brushes, so I knew they were due. Cleaning your makeup brushes is an important step to your beauty routine but it's something you probably rarely think to do (like me). The makeup and oil trapped in your brushes can cause breakouts and a dirty brush simply isn't good to use on your skin in general.

My Shampoo!

I got this Beauty & Pin-Ups shampoo from my cousin for Christmas and it's awesome! It leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth due to the mixture of Argan Oil, Vitamin E, and Shea Butter in it. I made a post before about the products I use on my dry and damaged hair after I made my sun-in mistake and this shampoo is my newest addition to my shower routine. Most of the hair damage I had is grown out now, but I still have some dry ends that need extra care. My hair dresser also recommended Moroccan Oil Products but some of their products are almost double the price. Argan oil is a great beauty product in many different ways. Follow this link for 10 Simple Beauty Uses for Organic Argan Oil.

"MIRACULEUX Shampoo is designed for dehydrated hair that lacks elasticity, luster and moisture.  The Shampoo restores hair to its healthy state by using Argan Oil, Vitamin E and Shea Butter. It is also sulfate free and safe for keratin and color treated hair."

I wanted to do a post about shellac because I am getting my first shellac manicure today and I feel like many people still don't know exactly what shellac is. I did a little research about it, so today I am blogging about what getting a shellac manicure really means.

Last year intricate nail art was huge. Although nail art is still popular, understated yet elegant manicures are the go-to nail trend of the year.  Neutrals, nudes, metallics, and smaller embellishments are the hottest upcoming trends.
Matte nail polish was also very popular last season and still is. Now there are matte topcoats available to turn any color matte!

My Polish of the Moment

I got a bunch of different nail colors for Christmas and I love them all! Right now I am wearing "My Better Half" by Essie and my glamour nail is "Blonde Bombshell" by China Glaze.  Sparkles are always in style on my own personal trend list;)  My cousin got me the "Blonde Bombshell" color for Christmas and I just love it! I have been using it as a glamour nail the past couple times I painted my nails.

Boxy corners, linear lines, and strategically placed dots give eyes graphic new shapes.
This fall, the cat-eye trend is very popular. I have never been great at eyeliner so it is something I'm going to practice! ...

Black is still a major nail color for the fall runway, however, dark shades and hues in these colors are becoming just as popular:

I have to make a shout out beauty post to my younger sister for her hair! She is only 13 but she is starting to try out a lot of different hairstyles. She's been rocking the sock bun, messy buns, different ponies, but my favorite was this new hair tie she bought:

The ponytail has this big black bow on it that looks so chic, especially in her hair. Look at the natural texture of her hair. My other sisters and I are all jealous of her perfect waves! Absolutely gorgeous.
Ever since I was little I loved playing with my hair. When my mom still did my hair I would have her try out different hairstyles on me (such as one side of my hair in a pigtail and the other side down; thank god there are no pictures of that, haha!) Once I was old enough to do my own hair I used to change my hairstyle at least 3 times a day. It was obnoxious. However, I always took care of my hair. Even after I discovered the flat iron and straightened my hair everyday in middle school, my hair dresser was still shocked at how little damage there was to my hair. However, what I want to talk about in this post is last summer, when I made my biggest hair mistake ever and I want to share what I did and what products I used to try to fix it.

How to Save Your Lip Gloss When it Starts to Run Low

The best part about lip gloss is the fun sheen and tint it leaves on your lips. The worst part is that when it start to run low, it’s nearly impossible to get the remaining bottom part of the gloss out of the darn tube! When this happens, we usually toss the tube and buy a new one, but this can add up over time and we lose all the perfectly good, precious gloss that is still in the bottle. Solution: this quick and easy method can  help you to salvage all your old, favorite, expensive, or discontinued lip gloss by just adding a bit of water into the mix.
      1. Fill a mug with water.
      2. Heat it up in the microwave for 60 seconds (be careful removing it!).  The water should not be boiling hot, but the same temperature that you would want for a cup of soup.
      3. Fill your mug with the lip gloss(es) that are low.
      4. Wait 10 minutes then remove lip glosses.
      5. If your lip gloss is extra stubborn you can reheat your mug for 30 seconds and leave the tube in for an additional 10 minutes.
      6. The heat from the water should liquefy the gloss to make it run down the sides, leaving you with more of your favorite gloss without having to spend a dime.
